Our story

After a decade of treating my creativity as a side quest, I’ve decided to make it the heart of my life with MILA.

MILA is a small but exciting venture born out of my love for creating, for working with my hands, brainstorming ideas late into the night, and occasionally roping my partner into my projects. I enjoy experimenting with different materials and textures. Sisal was the first medium I explored in an earlier business venture before expanding to wood and other materials that continue to surprise me.

I’m endlessly fascinated by texture and colour play, by the way certain forms, surfaces, and tones can make a space come alive or simply make something feel personal. Every creation I make carries a small story of curiosity, patience, and the quiet joy of making something from start to finish. My hope is that each piece also resonates personally with those who encounter it.

Made with care for all

Most of what MILA offers is made by hand, by me or by skilled artisans from different parts of the world. Over time, I’ve come to understand that creating excellent pieces is a balance of joy and rigour, that the beauty of craft often hides behind long hours, tiny adjustments, and deep care for detail.

Quality matters deeply to me, but so does fairness, especially for the makers. At MILA, working with artisans is not charity or aid; it’s collaboration built on respect, shared skill, and mutual appreciation for craft.

MILA, to me, is both a continuation and a beginning, a space where tradition meets play, where materials have stories, and where creativity finally hasthe space it deserves.

“I am glad a task to me is given, To labor at day by day, For it brings me health and strength and hope, And I cheerfully learn to say, “Head, you may think, Heart, you may feel, But, Hand, you shall work alway!.”
